Maybe not the best Jack Reacher novel, but if I read it in little more than 24 hour, probably Lee Child has not completely lost his touch yet!
Actually, I liked seeing our hero more and more "human", something more than a killing machine. Even though of course I felt very sad for the nice little old lady.
The end, especially, let me just wanting for more!!! I can't wait till 30/09/10!
Purchased this in epub format and read on the Nook. It follows Lee Childs usual format, a bit slow at the beginning but lots of action at the end.
As always, Fred and I enjoyed this Jack no-middle-name Reacher adventure. Lee Child sets up a rhythm in his prose that makes for great reading aloud.
The book begins with a countdown -- 61 hours until some unknown tragedy. The plot involves a diminutive Mexican mafioso who is exceedling cruel and greedy, but also rather intelligent. Unfortunately (for him), he overestimates his intelligence when he runs up against Reacher. The book also has a jailed biker/meth dealer, an elderly witness who is being protected in her home, a bus crash, several murders, and many policemen in the tiny town of Bolton, South Dakota....Continua
