I have already read a good number of Donna Leon’s books and I always love them. The reader already knows the main characters, as Commissario Brunetti, his wife and his children, but also his colleagues from the police and many others. So reading her books means meeting again many of her characters. The plots of her crime novels are always very well developed and give an insight into the Venetian society.
I only can recommend her books, especially to Italian readers, as Donna Leon gives a apt description of Italy, its people and its politics from an outside view.
