I found the book quite good: it is well written; there are a lot of good characters and the author is able to get you to know them in a handful of pages; all the digressions are really good (side stories, dialogues about beers, characters backgrounds and so on). Nevertheless it fells like he did not have enough control on them, the story that should hold the book together is just not good enough (IMHO). I failed to be thrilled and I guess that the editor would have like to sell the book as a thriller.
Although the weak plot, the book is not boring. I was not expecting this by a authors who wrote so much for movie and television.
