The setting of the story is incredible, and that was why I stared reading with a higher standards. Specify to say, this book has the potential to become a great movie, but as a novel, it still lacks dramatic scenes and noble elements which could inspire its readers. How a 400-year-old human looks at the modern world is awesome, but the plot is not satisfying. Maybe it’s because we, the readers are “the mayflies” and we need something to relay to the feelings of the main character’s, at least more than what’s given. Or maybe the main character’s personality was twisted long long ago and that makes him less interesting than Omin, the sparkling character who showed up almost only at the end of the book. I can’t stop imagining what the story would look like if the main role is Omin. I wonder if anyone thinks about this idea.
