There are plenty of great moments and characters in this book and the writing is superb. I also enjoyed the satirical side of the novel, sometimes hilarious.
But, for me, there are two big flaws:
- The plot: The frame where all these actions and people are set is quite inbelieveable and absurd.
- The depth of characters: Many of them are quite shallow and only serve as cartoons of the ideas they represent.
Nevertheless, I encourage to read and enjoy this book.

To read again and again and again...
That's REAL literature's pleasure.
My favorite Dickens Novel. Darker, more brooding -- up until the typical, unbelievable Dickensian ending.
