I do not really like Patricia Cornwell's style of narration. I found her dialogues monotonous and dry and her characters very impersonal. In addition, sometimes I have to re-read paragraphs because i am bewildered by the connections she made in the plot. Perhaps this is a compensation for the bizarre twists thrown into the storyline? I would not abstain from Patrician Cornwell's other novels, but they would certainly be the last pick of my choice. Jeffery Deaver and Lisa Gardner would be better selections. Also, i think first time Cornwell readers should start with other Scarpetta books rather than jump straight into this book. There seemed to be recollections of events and past characters from other novels, that can be quite frustrating to decipher....Continua
SHE'S BACK!!! GREAT Scarpetta novel!!!! Can't wait for the next one. I'm glad the "thing" between Scarpetta and Marino is "done"! I hated that storyline.
I have to say I was a little disappointed by this book. I have read most of hers, followed Scarpetta and her family/friends for years, but this....to me it was slow, ripetitive, you kept waiting for something to happen, to many things left unsaid and a quick end which left me wandering...Continua
