When you pick up the book and open the first page, Dan and Amy Cahill seem like any other girl and boy, governed by their crazy guardian to a depressing funeral. But by the end we suddenly find them across the Atlantic, in desperating peril.
This is the first in a series of books. You have to read all the books to solve the mystery. This one was written by Rick Riordan. The others are written by Gordon Korman, Patrick Carman, and others. In this one the protagonists figure out the first two clues. 37 to go.
I probably would have liked the book much more if I were a kid. I enjoy reading lots of kids' books, but this was just so-so. It's a bit like the Nancy Drew books that I loved as a kid but don't enjoy as an adult. I would still recommend it to kids who like mysteries....Continua
