The Greek Myths

I felt so shitty before that I said, fuck, why not, let's go deep in this shit, let's take a jump in the shit, and so I ordered a 30" pizza, jerked off, and then meditated about the fact that it was the first time I did such a bold move, a 30" pizza, fucking unbelievable I did that, and when it was about time for the pizza to arrive I checked from the window and I saw a giant drone approaching the house. My mobile rang. I answered, and the drone asked me if there was a bigger entrance than the door he was just staring at. I said yeah, sure, my window completely open right on the second floor, just fly up a bunch of meters here I am. The drone said, sure, sir, and I saw it flying up to my window. He made the pizza come in moving it from the side, and after the pizza was all leaning on my bed, the drone asked me if everything was alright. I suppose he meant the transaction, if the transaction had satisfied me, but I looked at it, broke in tears like a school girl and I jumped on it. I hooked myself to its gear and told it, fly me away, and it said sure, sir, and it flew me away.

Un lavoro mastodontico. Graves ha ricercato e letto ogni testo classico sull'argomento così come diversi libri di critica a lui contemporanei. Ha tratto le sue conclusioni (che hanno travolto tutto quello che sapevo di mitologia greca) e ha lavorato isolato su di un'isola greca alla composizione di quest'opera non solo trascrivendo tutte le storie, ma dandogli un'ordine grosso modo cronologico e arricchendo e solidificando l'opera con note alla fine di ciascuna leggenda che riportano non solo i testi originali da cui lui ha tratto la storia, ma anche altre in cui lui spiega/critica quello che sta succedendo nel mito - con chiavi di lettura (come scrivevo sopra) sconvolgenti, ma solide, intelligenti ed interessantissime. Ma soprattutto, a costo di ripetermi: sconvolgenti.

Ahahahah destinato a chi piace il genere un po' splatter un po' soft-porno alla Trono di spade, vale la pena leggerlo solo per scene di questo tipo, narrate con una naturalezza paragonabile solo a quella con cui gli dei seducono e abbandonano, talvolta uccidendo o trasformando, frotte di uomini e donne sul loro cammino. Un Beautiful arcaico, insomma.
Leggetevi solo la narrazione, non le note, è veramente troppo.
