I was a tad let down by the narrator, its contribution led only to misguiding you during your personal investigation throughout the novel - no matter how hard is to uncover the murderer in a Christie's story, you have to try it!
Anyway as the first Poirot case it was really interesting.
Molto incerta tra 5 e 4 stelline. Alla fine ne metto 4 solo perché personalmente il classico giallo inglese di cui la Christie è regina per me è un po' troppo cervellotico. Però niente da dire, nel suo genere questo è un capolavoro! Chapeau.
I had never read Agatha Christie's first novel, but now I see that all the elements that characterised her style are already there. I'm still not the biggest Poirot fan, but this is a very entertaining read.
Tutto quello che si può e si deve chiedere a un giallo. Ottimo intreccio, personaggi ben riusciti, campagna inglese nel suo splendore. È il meraviglioso Poirot. Ed era solo il primo... Grazie a Dio ne arriveranno tanti altri...
