So much fun but warning: I hated the ending. Betty's husband of 40 years suddenly leaves her and takes the nice upper west side apt. Mom and the grown girls end up at Cousin Lou's little cottage in Westport broke. Amazing transfer from the English country side to good ol' suburbia. ALthough the girls are in late 40s, both are going through crisis so move in with Mom. The ending would have Jane Austen rolling over in her grave but the spirit is all there. This was such a vapid chick-lit book and I am amazed that the NYTimes gave it such a good review. I stopped reading after 47 pages as it was going from bad to worse.
