i've already read this book in italian, so there wasn't much surprise reading ii in english. still ..
i think the book has a lot of ideas, good ones too, and the author used a lot of imagination to create the story. the trouble is when you get near the end it seems that imagination takes over and the story gets carried away.
science fiction is all about ideas and imagination: in this case i think the author went a little too far.
yet the book reads, and reads well. scott card surely knows how to write.
It start with a slow rythm but it gets momentum along the way. It loses some of its imaginary strength towards the finale, but luckily it is not enough to jeopardize the overall impression that resides in the reader once the last page has been flipped.
All in all, I liked it much better than speaker of the dead. The moral dilemmas here have a more REAL feeling to them, and the storyline of Path which initially feels unberably boring towards the end proves one of the most fruitful ideas.
I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for Card to write this book. Kudos to him.
I really liked the first two, but I barely remember anything about this one. I think this is where I started to lose interest in the overall series. I do remember that it was a lot of action/ there was some suspense to get you to keep reading....Continua
