Sui marciapiedi di Parigi vengono tracciati da mesi strani cerchi con il gesso azzurro. In mezzo ai cerchi, un tappo, un portachiavi, un gatto... Giornalisti e psichiatri si divertono a discuterne, ma il commissario Adamsberg, appena trasferito a Parigi, pensa che non ci sia proprio nulla da ridere.
