Holmes's Review

This is a substantial novel that spans several decades and continents. It's a slow-moving thriller but the clashes - both personal and national - are grand and heart-stopping. The characterization is particularly rich: maybe a little too rich for my liking. I guess I've been spoiled from reading too many pulp thrillers.
