What's not to love....it takes place in Tuscany!!! The story is interesting and full of real historical details. Nazis and art...partisans and retaliation...

I like how the story continues just where the previous one ended. The characters are getting described more in details. I am getting intrigued, fun to read

Disappointed to say the least!!!! At chapter 15 still nothing happens... Pedantic, boring.... Scarpetta is like a little girl, where is the strong woman we love? She questions every move! I don't know if I want to keep reading.....

I started reading Cornwell's books after a long pause.... maybe it should have been a longer pause.... very stiff, did not flow as her other books. Scarpetta looks almost stupid and boring. Too many words too little story
