a most outstanding medicine textbook it understands the core and spirit of chinese medicine though only a small aspect. the author's understanding and appreciation of the defect inherant in both traditional chinese medicine education and application as well as that of western medicine is most unusual as it is not from antagonistic attitude, but rather one of understanding and pardon. The sharing of health info is from good observation and good analysis. And the share of info is not out of money but done to make sure it is simple, fully understood and practicable. The most important aspect is that it aims not to mystify anything nor to goddise the author. This is in stark contrast to the other author on alternative medicine..Pato Leung, who only boasts the author and horrifies the reader within a book of little content nor practicable methods. This all the more demonstrated the value of this book I would recommend it to all medical students with some background, but not to the junior without firm rooting in their own discipline. For the practicing doctor, at least some years of seniority is needed before able to fully appreciate the value of this book, and he must have an open mind. For all doctors with good experience and open mind this is a good reference. Though this book still have some weakness in explanation, it is however more relevant to the doctor than to the layman reader
