'Lee Seung-ho' is ready for starting and bullpen baseball, 7-game winning streak snapped and heading for fall baseball

Doosan Bears' Heo Kyung-min is baptized with a bucket of water by Yang Seok-hwan after hitting a game-winning single with runners on second and third in the bottom of the ninth inning to win 3-2 during the baseball game between the SSG Landers and the Doosan Bears in the '2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League' at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 스포츠토토 on Thursday.

The Doosan Bears, who thought a fifth-place finish was possible, have won seven straight games to solidify their fourth-place finish.

Doosan won its seventh straight game with an 8-4 victory over the KIA Tigers at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on Sept. 18.

Doosan (64-1-57), which was one game ahead of Kia in fourth place prior to the game, moved to within two games of Kia (60-2-57) for a postseason berth.

Doosan had a somewhat erratic second half of the season. They went on an 11-game winning streak from July 1-25 and looked like they could threaten the two-powered system of the LG Twins and SSG Landers at the time, but after the streak ended on July 26, they went on a five-game losing streak.

Their win-loss margin, which had risen to +8 during the 11-game winning streak, dropped back to negative. Until the last six days, they were in sixth place, four games behind fifth-place KIA.

However, Doosan bounced back. 토토 After winning two straight games on Sept. 7-8, they were swept in the first game of a doubleheader against the Samsung Lions on Sept. 9, but went on a seven-game winning streak from the second game of the doubleheader through Sept. 18. They are 9-1 in their last 10 games, the best record among the 10 clubs.

Against SSG on the 14th, they were down 0-2 until the 8th inning and it looked like their winning streak would end, but in the 9th inning, they broke down their opponent's closer Seo Jin-yong to pull off a 3-2 comeback and keep the momentum going.

Against KIA on the 15th, they scored two runs in the ninth inning to come back from a 6-6 tie, and then bombarded the opposing mound on the 17th and 18th with the power of their bats to complete a seven-game winning streak.

During the winning streak, Doosan held opponents to a team ERA of just 0.283. During the seven-game winning streak, Raul Alcantara picked up two starts, while Brandon Waddell and South Korean international Kwak-Bin Kwak added one each.

When the bats weren't clicking in the early going, the bullpen kept them in the game. Park Chi-kook, a key part of the bullpen this season, was sidelined on the 13th with a shoulder problem, but Kim Myung-shin, Lee Young-ha, and Choi Ji-kang picked up the save.

Doosan Bears' Choi Seung-yong high-fives manager Lee Seung-yup after winning 3-2 during the baseball game between SSG Landers and Doosan Bears during the '2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League' at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on Thursday.

Choi Seung-yong, Chung Chul-won, and others have also done their part.

At the plate, Kang Seung-ho has been batting over .500 (15-for-30) in his last eight games. Jung Soo-bin, who has been strong in the fall, is also batting .387 (12-for-31), while Yang Seok-hwan (.375) and Yang Ji (0.313) have added weight.

Captain Heo Kyung-min hit a game-winning single against SSG on April 14 while not fully fit due to a hand bruise. It's a good time for us in many ways.

One step closer to fall baseball, Doosan begins a two-game series against the third-place NC Dinos on the 19th, who are 2.5 games ahead of them.

NC is also in good form with 8 wins and 2 losses in their last 10 games, so a tense game is expected. In particular, NC will start Eric Peddie, a specialty outfielder, to break Doosan's winning streak.

Doosan, who will counter with their veteran Jang Won-jun, seems to be losing the starting battle, but with the recent form, anything can happen.

If Doosan can continue their winning streak against NC, they could start the postseason even higher than they are now. 스포츠토토링크
