The $34 million project will add nearly 200,000 square feet to the current facility and improve existing space. It will focus on the casino's game floor and main entrance, administrative offices, and warehouses. The casino operates throughout the construction.
This expansion will not only increase the space around existing games, but will also provide space for 800 new slot machines and eight blackjack tables. The current casino floor is 62,000 square feet. About 100 new jobs will be added.
"We need to expand to meet the growing demands of our customers," said Dr. Neil Cornelius, general manager of Treasure Island Resorts & Casino. "We are very happy that our guests enjoy coming here as much. We want to accommodate our guests and provide the best entertainment experience possible.

Currently, Treasure Island Resort & Casino is a 375,000-square-foot facility that provides guests with the best gaming, accommodation, food service, and domestically known entertainment in the casino industry. Treasure Island has five Caribbean themed casinos with more than 1,600 slots and 50 blackjack tables; 550-seat Irish Bingo Hall and high-stakes bingo in the state's largest non-smoking gaming room. Treasure Island also has a hotel with 250 rooms. With more than 1,500 employees, Treasure Island Resort & Casino is the largest employer in Good Hugh County.
